Root canal treatment Pattaya

m and l

Recommended Posts

Anyone had one in Pattaya? I need one done, getting peed off with being jerked around in the UK. Can't get NHS. My private dentist wants to refer me to a specialist endodontist. Big bucks and long wait. My wife went to Turkey and had a load of cosmetic stuff done as well as 3 root canals - they were excellent. But I just want this one tooth fixed.

So anyone know of a good dentist that specialises in root canal and van recommend from personal experience please?

Hopefully going to get booked in when were there in December...

Plenty of threads on the board, use the search function. PIDC has been my clinic since they opened and deliver very high quality work

I had a root canal done at PIDC six months ago. Was promised the pain would be gone immediately. Still suffering pain and discomfort. My wife also had treatment there that was poor.

Was your root canal done by the specialist endodontist there?

Not sure. I have thrown away all my receipts as I won't be returning back there again.

Can't speak for any of the clinics in Pattaya but I had 2 root canals done as well as 2 crowns at Bangkok Smile Dental Clinic in Bangkok in June 2022 and was very happy with the result.

They use a specialist that does nothing but root canals and she was extremely professional

I have been to Bangkok Smile several times and have always had very professional service at a fair price.

I am a regular patient there. Usually I go for a checkup and any work required.

I have had at least one root canal and crown as well as much may lesser jobs inc bonding.  Costs are about one third of Australia: web site has examples.

Make sure the dentist looks closely at the root via x-rays. They may suggest you go to a specialist. Only specialist I know of is at the Bangkok Pattaya Hospital Dental Clinic. On the expensive side.

I can recommend Bumrumgrad in BKK.  Their dental staff is listed online and you can see what each specializes in, where and when they got thier degrees and certifications, etc.  I've not had a root canal there but had molars that were in very poor condition worked on successfully and skillfully.

Just got a root canal about a month ago.  My dentist is not a specialist that I know of, but can do it all as I also had a bridge done there.  I saw him recommended here on PA a couple years ago.  He is the best I have found after going to several here in Pattaya.

Chulakorn Dental Clinic on second road just a few blocks from Pattaya Tai nearly across from 13/3.  Small shop but very good service IMO

Dentist has over 20 years experience.  As someone mentioned, you must get all the nerve out, so he took a couple X-rays during root canal treatment to make sure he got it all.  All good now, no pain

When I had mine done at Bangkok Smile they used xrays to make sure things were right.  They probably did at least a dozen or more xrays.   In fact when I first arrived they determined one of my teeth had an infection and they would not finish it up until they were satisfied the infection was gone.  I am quite certain my USA dentist would have never been so thorough.

But I agree that you want to seek out someone that will do the job correctly.

Adenza Dental on Pattaya Nua does very good root canal work. I had it done a month ago. It was performed by a specialist, then the regular dentist, Dr Tapasit did the crown. The root canal work sometimes takes two visits. I was lucky it only took one visit. Very minimal pain in the beginning. It took 1 1/2 hours. The crown also took 1 1/2 hours. So a long process. The root canal cost 13,000 baht. My new tooth feels great and no pain remains after a month.

The wife and I were very happy for 20 years, then we met.

I’ve used him for years and no complaints. Right next to Candy Shop, the t-shirt place.
For a lower price I have mates use a place on 3rd. Near the lights with Pattaya Tai, head towards Pattaya Klang and it’s about 50m along on the left side. I will enquiry there next time if I need more expensive treatment to see how prices compare as quality is good according to them.

They should definitely be using xrays to try to see the canals of the teeth, molars can be more tricky as they have more canals. A specialist may also use a microscope to see into the tooth better, but regular dentist with a good amount of experience is usually fine (but a specialist at cheaper thai prices is a no brainer) i think privately the uk would run you about £800-1000 not including crown (which may be £300-400 approx). No root canal is 100% guaranteed in the long run, the next step is extract it and get an implant tho.

I'm told that ideally you should wait 2-3 months after the RC work (with a temporary crown) before you get the crown (proper) work done.
The delay is often not practicable for a short term visitor and some dentists just want to get your money ASAP.

This advice came too late for me as 2-3 months after I had everything done in one go an abscess appeared in the gum.  In my case it occurred due to a secondary canal the dentist missed  :Dunno:
Thus 16k wasted and I have a gap as it all had to be removed.

I'm currently going through the implant process at one often recommended here - Warin in Pattaya Klang.
It may take up to 8 months.

yes, sometimes root canals have divisions and offshoots that can't be filled (usually the main canals being cleaned and filled is enough) usually rarer but if nasty infection is present its possible the tooth will re-infect. the dentist should give you a estimate how difficult it looks from an xray. you could wait for some months to get a crown, but if the dentist is happy, they'd probably want to get the harder final crown pasted down asap, to lock everything off. when a root canal is done, the nerve and blood vessels are removed, so no more hydration to the tooth...they get brittle and can crack over the years after, thats why final hard crown is better also- but yes, sometimes they just want your money too since the timeframe for a visitor puts them at odds

Dr. Ramin in Pattaya. German licensed dentist. Not the cheapest but his clinic operates both to Thai and German operating and hygiene standards.

The standard go-to in the German speaking expat community.
