Can anyone more clever than me, find a list of countries that can have the new 45 days visa exempt.

Someone told me, just because you could have the 30 days visa exempt does not mean you can have

the 45 days?.

Many thanks, strange as it was an Italian that told me, that Italians could have the 30 day exemption but not the 45 day exemption.

He is partly correct.

The new 45 day Visa Exempt begins 1 October 2022.

So until then it is 30 days.

Unless you pay for the extension.

 Site linked above states

Must have a confirmed return ticket exiting Thailand within 30 days

But I imagine that’s just a typo because it makes no sense.

Anyone ever had to pay 2000 Baht upon entry? Is this new?

Visa exemption is free. Visa on arrival has a fee. And there's some expedited service at an extra cost. But VOA is only relevant for a small group of countries (India the most prominent.)

I took a wrong turn at the airport and ended up in a line for Indian people. So is already know there are two systems to enter.

I was wondering about 7. (picture from thaiembassy)

Very strange. There's definitely no fee involved.

It could be added to the airfare and we just are not aware.

There is a fee already build in. But pretty sure that's 700 baht. I've never heard of this 2k thing. Which I'm quite certain isn't a thing. Also seem to remember that thaiembassy site is a bit dodgy.

That is the root of the problem for this thread. The link provided is a website for a legal firm to advertise it's services. There is nothing official about it and in this case it looks like they really screwed up mixing up facts with bullshit.  I doubt that it is intentional, just incompetence.
