Next best Phuket options after Patong

Any recent good experiences in Phuket outside of Patong?

There used to be a few beaches pre-COVID that had bars, clubs and places to play pool, smaller versions than Patong but enough there to keep you needing to get into Patong for a decent girl each night.

Any info appreciated.

rawai should still be the 2nd most busy area. a lot less tourists, a lot more expats living there.

nai harn is awesome beach and super popular and there are 2 distinct bar areas in rawai.

you will need a motorbike (or car) though.

Would concur with this…… Each to their own, but I prefer Rawai to Patong. However, everything (beaches, dining, lodgings and bars) is spread out, so you do need to roll your own for transport. Footing it is not an option.

Kata Beach is a pleasant spot, and there is a concentration of 20 or 30 bars (mostly small) inland from the north end of the beach. A few other bars scattered around town.

Kamala Beach, ten or fifteen minutes north of Patong, could also be worth a look. Nice beach and laid back town. There is a concentration of small bars down the street that heads to west at the Beer Garden. There are bars scattered along both sides of the main road, and down some side roads, all within ambling distance.
