Great deals at Thai airways

I just booked a April 17 to May 3 flight Stockholm - BKK with Thai for 1005 USD roundtrip with Premium Economy too BKK and plain economy from BKK. That's a great price I think (the price for economy booth ways would have been 635 USD) - all prices with tax included..

You can currently get direct flights from EVA Air for £410 if you want to fly in March, April, May or June.

Check out www.netflights.com for details.

If you have the cash to do a trip it really is a great time to go right now.

cheapest EVA I can find on netflightts for depart late APril return late May is now 601 on direct, the only option.. Thai is cheaper but old tatty planes I am told..still listing the old 916 and 917 flights with the antique jumbos and no IFE. How much better is EVA?

Assuming you don't work for the Thai tourist dept.!! lol, can you explain why now is a great time to go? Thanks.

My Pattaya budget is perfectly adequate as long as I don't spend any of it

I just booked a Thai air flight from LAX to BKK in premium economy for $1068 USD seems like a good deal too me for the only non stop from the west coast of the US. There were some fares that were a little less (200 US) but adds 5 hours to the flight time with a stop in Korea or Japan...worth the money IMHO... other best deals were with JAL out of SFO for $768 but flight time was 25 hrs vs 17 with Thai

Well I would think he meant its a great time to go because the flights are so cheap, there isnt a bad time to go so long as you can afford it.

How to have the best flight from UK - BKK :

1) Always go for the direct flight from London - get the thing over and done with. If ur not in london book a train well in advance.

Use Eva, Thai, BA - in that order of preference. Eva isnt usually that much more than other carriers (at most times during the year).

There may be another direct service.

2) Go to sleep (take a strong sleeping pill). So inflight perks, fancy screens, free alcohol, etc mean nothing.

3) In my opinion leg room is a bit overhyped. They are pretty much the same*. They are all a lot better than the budget/UK charter flights.

Really, the most important thing is to get lucky and not have a fatty next to you - ideally free seats around you - or even better a row of 4. ahhhh bliss!

There are tricks to get these seats of course.

*air asia X and the now defunct oasis hong kong - so called budget airlines - were just as good as etihad for seat room in my experience

before that i travelled around world on ba/qantas and i'd say the above ones were better.

I have not flew own thai or eva, but many people say eva is fine.

In fact, out of the 5 times ive done the trip, only once was it direct. But thats because i'm a tight bastard - usually saves me 100 quid though (when you are doing the BKK-UK return - which is not easy to find deals on).

Happy flight.
