After all these years I was not aware the Thais put money in their Kratong, it made sense when I saw all the people in the water and the GF told me they were getting the money :)

It was very subdued of course. 

Was down the at the end of Jomtien beach last night, the rubbish from the night before was unbelievable... Surely they could clean it up...

Possibly fixed with the quality tourists  they are seeking... :D

They all were in Bkk too, by comparison to previous years. Probably why the article says hundreds when it would normally be thousands.

This article on the pollution of the water ways that the  festival is supposed to honour caught my eye.   Maybe if it was a bit tamer this year it’s a good thing.
