The point being missed in that report that is available elsewhere is that the people who have all tested positive were all unvaccinated, so either people going to the sandbox and/or unvaccinated Thai's returning home. The number of vaccinated tourists who have arrived and then tested positive is still zero(surprise!).

Well if that's true and this continues, will the Thai authorities relent on the 1 day quarantine and test on arrival?

Well that's the logical conclusion and "This is Thailand" so no, absolutely no chance at all :)

They just started to accept direct flights form Russia, so the numbers of positive Covid cases off of the plane should rise.

If you arrive test negative but one or more people on your plane test positive-How do the Thai authorities react to that?-Do you escape quarantine if your double vax ?-

apparently the new official policy is: if someone directly on your right or on your left on the plane tests positive (but not in front or in the back), you will go to quarantine as well. how long is unclear and might differ (assuming you always test negative of course... some reports of 7 days, some of 10, some of 14). normally you also have the option of flying back home instead (again, of course, assuming you test negative).

how they handle it in reality: who knows. haven't heard anything recently about it happening.

That’s a pretty important point, and if so (I’m not doubting you) then rather lazy reporting by TPN.

Not really as the official report by the Office of Public health made no mention of vaccinated/non vaccinated. They may well have done so now, although I have yet to see any “official” statement but if they have it was after the report/article was published.

Id say it’s a good bet they WERE unvaccinated but no news outlet could state that, at the time, as they would be guessing. They are pretty limited to using the wording of the official reports.

I hear you but isn’t the role of a news agency to investigate and report facts rather than simply copy and paste ‘official’ announcements? Stokielad in his post typed ‘available elsewhere’ which may in turn mean others have secured that information.

I guess I’m just asking the question of a news service that goes beyond regurgitating official announcements and becomes somewhat investigatory.

Hmm it's probably low but saying its zero appears incorrect.  Per the Department of Disease Control from the 4th:

Testing on arrival revealed three visitors were infected with Covid-19  under the “Test and Go” process for fully vaccinated travellers from specified countries. This was 0.07% of all visitors under the “Test and Go” process, Dr Sumanee said.

Another three arrivals who were subject to quarantine also tested positive. They accounted for 0.94% of all visitors in this group.

Thanks for the info, Comes across a sa bit of a lottery depending on how healthy your immediate travel companions are!
