So is it against current restrictions to buy a beer in 7/11 and sit on the beach, with the wife and have the beer?

Oh, yes indeed! Alcohol consumption is only allowed in groups of one. And that not in public.

it has never been ok to drink beer on the beach. but for years this has been ignored. the late night beach drinking scene was almost always thais rather than falangs. it's not going to be a problem for falangs cos it is not something they do

               You get busted for drinking, and the next day they allow the bars to open again, ouch!!
