Jolly Guesthouse & Restaurant a review with pics

as i have a condo i never get to do a review. but yesterday i was having some painting done so had booked a room  via booking.com. the reason i selected this place all rooms have a bath tub and showers are all very well but i fancied a tub ( other expats please note ! }. it's on buakaow just along from tree town and opposite chaba  and the chill inn. special covid price 527 bht. boss was a real guy called Amir jerusalem /scandiinavian descent 

big room at least 22 ft long overlooking buakaow  all the usual stuff plus true tv box i had room number 4. time for some pics

that sofa can drop flat

a selection of plates/utensils. no cooking facilities but enough stuff to handle take aways more easily

felt more like an apartment than a hotel room

it was a big room

 rub a dub dub. you would need to bring your own plastic duck. the bathroom  was quite large too tub has grips both side to help get in and out safely

i was very impressed, made a nice mini break from my condo with the bath bonus

Hum if the tub is same as in Acqua hotel, I dont fit in

They are made for TG, not for tall european !

Btw ist it a bit loud outside in the night ? (not now but when all open again) ?

the tub in room 4 is deffo uk /EU  size.  in fact the bathroom itself was way bigger than usual i can't say as to the street noise outside these exceptional times. I have not seen a room at the Aqua but  the room i was in  area wise could easily be 2 rooms in a new build

Its an outstanding room for the price, but I'd imagine the street noise (normal times) would be loud & unbearable for me

 

Was there a shower above the bath  ?  or no shower at all

you can see the shower hose wrapped round the taps. there was an anti slip mat in the bath and a fitting high on the wall at the tap end (faucet for USA ) to attach the the shower hose to..............

Yes, in plain view for all to clearly see, I only had my eyes tested 5 weeks ago as well, should ask for a refund  :(

Just noticed on booking.com for mid-Feb 2022, this room is £10 a night(non-refundable), or £11 with free cancellation

I could live there a loooong time and I DO LOVE a nice bathtub. Seaview is great but I am even happier with a cheap street view.

I am going to keep this in mind for my next visit.

Ask for any room other than room 4 that bath tub has seen Striderman

there is a door on the side near the back of the restaurant area. out of hours when it's shut there are 2 roll down shutters at the front. the door to the side allows access

splish splash , last night having a bath. thought i would give myself a break from my condo shower and took another look at Jolly  ( the sign outside says Jolly's but booking. com has it listed as Jolly Guesthouse and Restaurant ) cost of playing rubber ducks 475 bht. same huge room as last time. tremendous value and Amir was again a very welcoming host.

i will return at another time.

my mate has a booking.com account. he sorted it and i paid him 475. so it was pre paid the day before. no other charges.
