Pattaya in June

Me and three mates are landing in Tahiland mid june '09...we will be heading straight from Bangkok to Pattaya...we will be there for 5 days then Bangkok for the balance of 4 days....anybody got tips for us newbies...cheers in advance

1. Take condoms as thai ones are tiny.

3. Get yourself a nice custom-made suit

My advice to you are your friends is to forget Bangkok and spend the whole trip in Patts.

It is a very expensive place.

Might as well just spend your holiday in pattaya

I have to respectfully disagree with my fellow BM's about completely cancelling the Bangkok leg of your trip. 4 days may be a bit too much though. Try a week in Pattaya. LK Renaissane as well as other hotels gives me a 40% discount for 7 or more nights during the off season. 30% if you have never stayed before. A very nice hotel. 2 nights in Bangkok at say The Dawin hotel. On Soi 4 about a 5 minute walk to Nana Plaza and the surrounding bars. It is a nice hotel and the standard room goes for something like 1900Baht. I also like to go to CM2 disco. I know, why go for Russian women when in Thailand? Well, the basic answer is where else am I going to find them??? I am not traveling all the way to fucking Russia for a few hours of pleasure and they are too damn expensive in Dubai.

 

Just my two cents.......

thanks Texan009, none of us have been to Patts, nor Bangkok....we have booked the Pattaya Bay Resort for 6 nights, then at the Courtyard by Marriott in Bangkok, having paid deposit for either....but i have a gut feeling that we might be kicking on in Pattaya maybe a few extra nights....can you of anyone else tell me whata and where to go in Pattaya during the day or at night...basically talking good food...no doubt the Nightlife part will just happen...lol...

Well, I have become used to the Thai BBQ stands on the side of the road for a quick bite. I do like Stone Oven after a trip to Soi 6, Bob's BBQ for pretty much anything on the menu, Royal Garden with the previous nights girl. They have a restaurant with all kinds of international choices. There are plenty of choices for decent food. I could actually have Phad Kra Pow Gai (Very Spicy) everyday. You will be fine and will not find it too difficult to find something that you like.

I would miss the Bangkok part. Although it has its plus's not nearly as many as Pattaya and is not NEARLY as much fun. With a short period that you have I would just do it all in Pattaya and leave bangkok for when you have more time:)

Thanks for your input Scottish_Tyrant, i tell ya what mate you have just about convinced me to hit Pattaya for the entire time whilst over there, but I think maybe I should at least give Bangkok a look, but I tell you what, if it is crap, its back in the "johnny cab" and off to Pattaya we go...i myself would prefer to have a slower holiday rather then the fast bullshit i have been told about in Bangkok....i am enjoying this forum very much as i can get many different thoughts from the people (many who frequent Pattaya) that give you the upfront truth....so hats off to you all and i hope that i to can give advice once doing my first trip over there.... :Stupid1:

true about the condoms i'l remember to stock up fromt he local clap clinic they give them out free on the nhs ^^

 

on topic you don't need alot of time in bangkok imo

i know whren i go in june i land get taxi to patts book a hotel for a couple days then go on walkabout

to find some mongers who know some good digsand or check local housing myself

careful on the road tho they drive like there are no traffic lines and the roads go in circles with no coming and going traffic just a one way system and

takes getting used to "dodging traffic" that is.

 

so expect me in patts june 10th + for a week or two
