What a fucked up drainage system! Down near Soi 10 (2nd rd end) Beach road it's under water and impassable. Forget going out. Probably now stuck in hotel for two days.

 Not sure what you're on about as I was out mid-morning on my bike taking pictures and all the roads were clear of any flood water.

Just this.  What are you on about? It may not have lasted long but it was there.  

I may have exaggerated about being stuck in hotel for a few days but look at the mess. After this there's fucking dirt everywhere and tons of people are affected.

There is a hump along Soi 10 that blocks the water from draining completely to the sea, but it looks like it was only shin deep by the time you took your picture. I imagine a few hours earlier the chair in the foreground was probably floating. The picture below is at the Beach Rd end of Soi 10 at about 11am. At the time I took the pic I was standing on only damp pavement.

I was surprised when I a rode around mid-morning the usual impassable sections along Beach Rd and Buakhao were only damp. Given the amount of rain we had last night I'd say the drains are doing a good job of clearing the area of flood water quickly.
