Sorry, but but if he really didn't want to leave the club & see out his last year or two playing at Barcelona, he could have easily reduced his annual wage demand from £123 million not just down to £61 million, but maybe just £5 million or even £1 million for the last year or two

 

Fair enough if he wants to maximise his earnings for another couple of years, but the tears at being "forced" to leave were too pathetic for me

Apparently not, I was listening to talksports & under Spanish law you are not allowed to take a pay cut of i think 50% or more.

Barcelona couldn't afford to pay what it would have taken for him to have stayed.

I only caught part of the conversation but it's to do with big companies not ripping off average Joe, it's apparently applied across the board whether billionaire or minimum wage.

On the upside Jay, Mike Ashley might decide to put right a decade of wrongs & make an offer  to take the little magician down the toon.

Wouldn't finance it himself of course, maybe put a consortium together of Gazza, Pj & Duncan, Cheryl Tweedy Fernandez Virsini Payne Cole & Oz from auf wiedersehen pet to help pay his wages.
