Hopes are high for my december trip plan.
They just need to vaccinate as many people as they can, it was the same in europe until we started reaching a good % of vaccinated people. just bars opening and closing back down after a while when cases spiked again.

Does anyone know if this version would still require staying 7 days in Special Quarantine hotels ,or can it be in any hotel or Condo ?

It's all in the article if you click the link: “Under the sealed routes plan, foreign tourists who have completely taken two doses of an approved Covid-19 vaccine will be allowed to check into SHA+ approved hotels...

Of course, it's just a proposal for now anyway.

By late summer most of US and EU will have reached a safe zone in terms of vaccination rate, by then there will be less competition for buying up the doses so you can expect the rest of the G20 countries like thailand to follow up quickly

Poorer places like the Philippines are probably screwed until 2022

Gents do not read too much into this or get your hopes up...living here I see and read all the so called "schemes" various Government bodies/local Governors come up with (a new "proposal" comes out every other day) only to be forgotten about or modified later on.

I cannot honestly see any unrestricted tourism here until next year at the earliest, even with those who have received both jabs....until Thailand purchases sufficient vaccines to be able to give at least one jab here to the majority of it`s people (around 70 mil) it will not happen...Thai people are frightened to death about this virus and firmly believe it`s the work of dirty farangs (not their chinese cousins)

We have already witnessed the so called "Phuket Sandbox" where vaccinated tourists would be welcomed virtually collapse with the announcement (at this late hour) that no bars or entertainment venues will be open and no chance of an alcoholic drink in restaurants....madness to expect tourists in any numbers to put up with this....but why did they not state this when they first came up with the scheme? quite simply the left hand here does not know what the right one is doing.

Sorry I cannot be more optimistic chaps.

Some people are eager to travel/return to Thailand, if they can get some bookings from the initial announcement which are either non refundable or will take 1 year+ to get money or credit back, you can see why they wouldn't state it right away.
