Canadian Tourist helps to arrest Baht Bus pickpocket

In the early hours of Friday Morning Police Lieutenant Colonel Sutum, the Deputy Chief of Pattaya Police received word of a theft which had just taken place on a Baht Bus. The suspected thief had been detained and was on her way to Pattaya Police Station with the victim. Police spoke with Mr. Harold Guss aged 21 from Canada who explained that he was sitting on the back of the Baht Bus which was travelling towards Pattaya on the Thappraya Road close to the intersection with the Tepprasit Road when he realized that a young girl who was sitting close to him was in the process of stealing his wallet from his trouser pocket. He raised the alarm and the Baht Bus Driver stopped and contacted the Police who soon arrived. Khun Soonisar aged 18, whose Mother is currently in Prison because of similar offences, was found to be in possession of Mr. Guss’s wallet. At Pattaya Police Station the girl confessed to stealing the wallet and was charged with the offence and, if found guilty in Court, she will likely join her Mother behind Bars in due course.
