posts disappearing

A couple of times my posts would just disappear...  does it mean a moderator deleted them?  I get no notification of any kind when that happens.  They were quite benign posts so not clear why they would be removed...

yes, that's normally what it means. you probably broke one of the rules, make sure you read them again. maybe a post also gets deleted because another post gets removed and then yours (that was a reply to it) doesn't make sense anymore...

if it's something major, you normally get a PM with some info and a clear warning.

if you have a specific question about a post, it's best to send a message to staff and ask them directly.

We don’t have time to notify someone every time. A post could be off-topic, in the wrong thread, inappropriate, against forum rules, repeated information etc etc.

It is not a forum issue so not really relevant to post here either.

If a post 'disappears' for no reason, it IS a forum issue worthy of a question on the board.

If a mod doesn't contact the poster, the poster has no clue as to why a post was removed.

I experienced the same - and got warning points for reposting something that 'disappeared' - I followed up, but no response from the mod.

Unless a mod connects with us, we will inevitably conclude that the original post got lost in cyberspace!
