There's some useful factual notes about post to/from Thailand tucked away in Karandy's thread.  Started this so that others can edd their experiences.

Mine today:  Local post office in Thailand declined to accept a small air-mail package (no EMS/registration sought) for the USA: stated that the service was suspended.

Did you try to send it via ePacket instead, that is available to the USA according to the Post Office. Min 260 baht for up to 100g?

No - I've used EMS (e-Packet) before with good results, but this packet wasn't remotely time-sensitive and I brought it home.
