VR 3D

Greetings,

Does anyone know how to use VR 3D/virtual reality glasses to watch 3D movies? And or which VR 3D I should purchase to watch 3D movies? There're so many VR 3D, I don't know which one to buy?

Thanks in advance

if you're ONLY interested in watching 3d movies, buy the oculus go. it's great for VR porn.
it's NOT a good solution if you're looking for any kind of real VR gaming. Oculus also just announced that they will not support it much longer going forward (still security updates until 2022, but no more new updates etc). All the focus is now on the oculus quest and the upcoming devices.

But if you're just looking for VR porn, the oculus go is a great device.

1+ on that.

If you're ~just~ going to watch movie content, a 3-axis all-in-one headset like the Oculus Go is a good choice, keeping in mind that it's soon to be a discontinued product.

If you think you might involve yourself with movies and any other type of content, a 6-axis all-in-one headset like the Oculus Quest would probably be a better choice. The Quest still has future potential, the Go is dead ended. I feel the Quest is a good choice since it does not require connecting a computer (Rift,  Index), or game console (PS VR) to make it work. Additionally, the position sensing parts are in the headset looking outward instead of installed around the room looking inward. It makes for a very simple setup if you do more than watch movies in Skybox or Bigscreen.

In my opinion, 3D in a VR headset is worth watching. A long time ago I bought a high-end Samsung 3D TV. In over 5 years I don't think I watched a single 3D movie all the way through on the television. Watching on a VR headset is an entirely different experience.

Greetings,

Thank you very much for your insightful information! Based on your responses, I shall order Occlusion Quest from Lazada!

Here's an Amazon link for price comparison. Over here, it should be around 20,000 baht.

Bangkok vendor

fwiw: some people report that for only consuming content, the Go is the better choice than the quest. mostly because apparently the screen-type is different. it's also a little lighter iirc.

i have no idea if the display thing is true. just wanted to mention it. i don't think the difference is large.

for playing VR movies, i suggest you use skybox vr player and stream it directly from the computer via wlan. you need a 5ghz wlan channel set up and use that. let me know if you have technical problems when setting up and i'm happy to help down the line.
