This guy is an awful elitist.

If he is correct many will lose money and the Chinese will laugh at how easy it will be to take over Thailand.

They are/have already.

If you're going to try, go all the way.

I agree with the above; I also can't see that Thailand has the capacity, impetus or independant financial wherewithal to create a sustainable elite market to replace 18% GDP generated by the previous tourism model. There is also the revenue that flows back up North from the current industry they want to dump.

This fella may be a learned experienced business in his field but I get the impression it's a his vocation, no passion.. This maybe why he is obviously echoing the latest Government think tanks views on how the future may look.

You're here now where you should have been all along.

Agree with all.

Thailand has no welfare, food stamps, safety net and most important no child support.

How will this be addressed under his "elite" travel proposals?

This also gives an indication of how many fucks they give about the "entertainment" industry and its associated tourists:

All businesses and activities suspended to control the spread of coronavirus disease will be allowed to resume on July 1 - including entertainment venues and "soapy massage" parlours.

Dr Taweesilp Visanuyothin, spokesman of the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration, announced  the decision on Wednesday.

He said regulations had been drafted for the fifth round of resumption of business and activities "when complete relaxation will occur".

Businesses and activities to resume this time posed a high risk of disease transmission. Their closure had an insignificant impact on the overall economy, but some groups of people were in financial trouble because of it -  including musicians and singers, he said.
