Why is this news? I would expect multiple shoplifting arrests per day in a town the size of Pattata. They write an article on each one?

Guess I have no statistics on this, but actually think shoplifting by Buddhists may be rarer than you think.

She should have gone to California.  A few years ago it was decided by the lawmakers that it's only a problem if the shop lifter takes more than $900, so basically just visit the store multiple times.
