THAI cut domestic, international prices

 

BANGKOK: -- Thai Airways International Plc (THAI) is cutting domestic airfare in between 45-55 percent from market price while dipping ticket price for international routes up to 50 percent, aims to stimulate traveling in first quarter this year.

 

"This is the first time the airline offers such extra lower airfare," Chris Chantalitanon, director area for Thailand, Indochina and Myanmar , said Wednesday.

Tourism reviving measures approved

 

 

The cabinet Tuesday approved four stimulus measures aimed at reviving tourism in short period.

 

The first measure is to waive visa fee for all nationalities over next three months.

 

The second measure is to reduce entrance fee at all national parks in the kingdom.

 

The third measure is to allow private sector to claim back meeting and conference taxes at double rate from original.

 

And the last measure is to cut landing and parking fee for aircrafts at major airport in the country.

Free visa for all tourists

 

 

The Cabinet on Tuesday waived travel visa for all nationals for over the next three months as one of four short-term recovery measures to restore tourism industry.

 

The move is expected to draw more Chinese travellers, one of the main target group, to the country.

just looked at the LAX-BKK run, about $400 less than before, not 50%, but a nice discount!

netflights.com have flights with Thai airways in February & March 2009 for a little over £500 & they are from London Heathrow & direct.

We are all in melt down and times are shit for us in general but these prices are very good & are as good as nearly a decade back.

This year I am sure there will be some good prices most months just not Xmas & new year period.

Prices are back inline with a few years ago before oil/fuel prices skyrocketed. For those that can afford it, prices are pretty good right now.

No changes for me, flying out of San Francisco or Los Angeles. China Airlines was already doing huge 50th Anniversary sales that I took advantage of. Saved nearly $260 compared to my trip last August.
