Hua Hin International Jazz Festival and Centara Grand

The 15th annual Hua Hin Jazz Festival, free, on the beach.  Took the 9:20 AM train from Bangkok, 3rd class for 44 baht, 4.5 hours.

Posters all over town announcing the festival

Stayed at the Centara Grand Resort, ideally located adjacent to the festival.

The grounds were great

Room very comfortable

Bedroom was upstairs

There were lots of games to play at the resort.  Besides the tennis courts and putting green, there were these

Something for the kids

Nice exercise room, but they wouldn't allow me a workout without tennis shoes

Room service was prompt

I wandered over to Soi Bintabaht for a few drinks

It rained in the afternoon but cleared up just before the festival

Must have been at least 5000 people, larger draw than last year

The Japanese band was awesome

Followed by the Beat Brothers with some showtunes.  Peter Gunn, Ain't Misbehavin', Route 66, great stuff

The Shanghai Sisters from Kuala Lumpur should have taken the stage first

Two days of awesome music, then onto the ferry to Pattaya where there's yet another music festival

I attend this event every year and highly recommend it.

A group like " Shanghai Sisters from Kuala Lumpur " how cool is THAT name? I'd love to see THAT group live!
