Police alerted to drunken Taxi Driver in South Pattaya

A bizarre story now from South Pattaya close to the intersection with Pattaya Second Road. On Saturday Afternoon, Pattaya’s Traffic Police received a call to the area after members of the public reported a Bangkok Taxi-Meter which had parked in an unusual manner. The driver of the taxi appeared drunk and was asleep at the wheel. Police arrived and attempted to wake the driver after initial fears that the man may have been drugged as it was an unusual time of day to be in such a drunken state. However Police confirmed the man, who could not give his name, was drunk. The keys to his car were given to a nearby shop owner who was given instructions to return them to the driver only when he had sobered-up. No further action was taken by the Police.
