Looking for a hotel with Wifi

Hey guys, I'm planning on a trip for next week and I want some hotel suggestions. My main requirements are: Good wifi for me to get some work done, girl friendly, clean, and has a locker. Also, a balcony or some sort of an open space is a must. Would be nice if I could get something with the Sea view. Not very important requirements: A good flatscreen TV for me to use my Chromecast and probably a gym....

Thinking that a budget of 1,000 B per day is adequate. Dont mind spending a bit more if needed.

(There is already a lot of information on this forum but I'm unable to come to a conclusion. I'm hoping you guys would be able to help. Thanks)

I think you might find it difficult to find a hotel for 1000 baht/night and it has top quality wifi.   I've stayed at quite a few budget hotels in the Pattaya area and I can't recall one that had stable/fast wifi, they've always been spotty, not nearly good enough for doing anything important like work.

For the last few trips, I've rented condos in VT6 for around 1500/night (low season) and the wifi has always been awesome.

If you want a better experience with your "date"... read, learn, live the following:

Thanks, VT6 looks very interesting. But Im not sure if not having the sheets and towels changed everyday would be ideal. Also, I'm guessing they're in demand and I have to book really early. Which is the best site to book?

Check these sites out, it's low season, you might get lucky:

http://dancewatchers.com/VT6_Pattaya_Nightly_Condo_Rentals_Menu_page_1.html

I don't know about Honey, but Dancewatcher offers daily sheets/towel changes, for an extra charge.

Quick question: When I see something like Room 25-987, I'm assuming that the room number is 987 and its on the 25th floor. Correct?

Instead of wifi I would think about getting a good mobile internet. Doesn't cost too much and works much better than most of the wifis around town.

I dont mind using mobile data for work. But I was hoping I'd get somewhat decent wifi for me to use Netflix. Its not a necessity though.....

You can get mobile data what is fast enough for netflix, dont remember the prices but I think AIS (Truemove might be better) had around 900b 1 month unlimited data package.

There is always some promotions going on, at the moment 7days internet 1Mbps 2,5gb  for 120b at AIS.

there are alot of data packages.  Just go to their store or any small phone stores at tukcom and tell them what you need and they will get you the right package.

Yes, that's correct.

Note: The SOUTH condos facing (towards WS) may have better views but will be considerably hotter due to the sun than NORTH facing ones.

Neither of the mobile Internet packages above would be suitable, with their relatively tiny data allowances.

Better to obtain a basic DTAC SIM for 49 baht(at the airport or elsewhere) If they claim to have none at the airport, move on.

Once they have registered the SIM for you, add some credit, perhaps 300 baht and apply a 10 Mbps(1.25 MB/s) package for between 213 & 267 baht per seven days by simply entering the USSD code indicated or by clicking through the relevant link

That, location permitting, will suffice for unlimited Netflix watching. The packages recommended in earlier posts would peter out within the first day or two.

No limit, no slow down. Everyone else seems to be offering you plans with a few GBs. Not sure what they are thinking. You can easily use up 3GB per hour for a NetFlix HD stream. 1 GB for SD. So their suggestions won't be of much use for working and NetFlix streaming.

Yeah mate, your solution is the best. I don’t mind paying that price. Thanks

Hey guys, a quick update. I did not end up going this week as I'd planned. However, just booked tickets for 12 days from June 10th. Wifi is no longer my priority, as I just quit my full-time gig. I'm now looking for a clean place, that has all necessary facilities and a balcony if possible. I've set a budget of around 1,500 Bhat per day. Any suggestions for this? Appreciate any help :D

Also, my only option of a direct flight was awfully early. I arrive in Bangkok at 2am, and I expect to be in pattaya by 6 or 7am. Is there something I can do about it? I sure as hell do not want to wait for another 5-6 hours to get a shower and a nap.
