Pantip Plaza used to be a haven for all things IT especially pirated software - is this still the case or have the authorities cracked down on it ?

Officially pirated software is illigal. They even have a big banner on the wall. So mostlikely you will not find it open like 10 years ago, but it is still available. Just walk around, esspecially in first floor.

They approach you and ask what you want.

But I have faced another problem. Nowadays severall software is just working after a online registering. Most of the software is coming with a special file which needs to be installed, But not always working.

Pantip still has pirated software but it is not displayed out in the open. The software vendor I use is on the mezzanine level.  She shows you the software on a PC tablet and does not have paper copies in book form like before.  She can even copy her inventory on a flash drive so you can peruse at your leisure.  She indicated Pantip management now discourages pirated software sales.

MBK sells pirated software out in the open in the old book form when they know the police are not visiting.
