Looking for a clean budget hotel room with the usual a/c, ensuite t/v , fridge.... somewhere close to shopping and reastuarants etc

I recently stayed at the Lanna Palace in Chang Mai. Not really budget though, it cost me 2000 baht, but that was for New Year's. Its a nice clean good hotel. Good location in the middle of the city close to the Night Bazaar.

Montri hotel its inside the old city if I remember correctly its around 800 baht per night good hotel for the price good location internet cafe and restaurant lift clean and comfortable I dont think they have a website of their own.

I have stayed there many times and would recommend it Tel. 053211069 they also have a mini bus for free airport pick up and return.

 

Another recommendation is the Queen Vic again inside the old town it had the same owner and was styled on the Queen Vic in Soi 6 Pattaya however I did hear it now has a different owner (don't quote me as I am not 100% sure) again under 800 baht nice rooms but no lift the food is even better than the one in Soi 6 or was.

Although all the Tuk Tuk drivers knew the Montri none seemed to know where the Queen Vic was so I would suggest printing a map address and Tel. no. in case you had a problem

 

Location wise I would say the Montri is better

I stayed at the Raming Lodge in 2007. Its close to a bunch of beer bars an Walking distance to the night market.

Me I stayed a few days at Chiang mai Thai House last year , 950 Bath good price for nice room !
