Does anyone have any experience at this hotel? I am looking for a luxury place for a few nights that is ok with guests.

No issues, no dropping off ID cards, and bar Su downstairs on street level has older mid 30s freelance girls.

Good location.  Has an attached walkway to cross Suk to get to Cowboy...

Sheraton is a twenty years old + hotel. Sofitel, Pullman, or the brand new Hyatt Regency may be better choice if you are looking for luxury place to stay.

I've never personally stayed at Sheraton so I can't compare to other hotels. But as BM matrix 123 say's Sofitel Suk and Hyatt Regency may well be better options.

I stayed at Sofitel Suk in club room December '17. Very good.

Hyatt Regency already booked for early March '19, and confirmed via email guest friendly. Took advantage of their opening offer, 20% discounted. I believe Hyatt will have their own direct access to the Skytrain.

Bumping this thread!

@vegasxdm - did you end up staying there?

I'm looking at it for my trip next February, as it gets GREAT reviews (higher-rated by customer on Marriott's website that the more expensive St Regis, although both are the same # of Marriott points per night).

I have a free Marriott night certificate that I will be looking to cash out, and possibly some Marriott points.

I have a ton of Marriott points, and, with the Pattaya Marriott changing to Avani years ago, have been looking for somewhere to spend them.

I saw an old review of the Sheraton (maybe 4 or 5 years ago), and the pool looked fantastic!

I am SUCH a forgetful moron -- I actually POSTED in RG's TR about how I needed to put the Sheraton "on my list"

Maybe this is why I should actually MAKE a damn list!  55555

Have you stayed at both properties?

Stayed in this hotel in my previous trip. I would say they have the most dedicated hotel staff I've ever met. Bad part is the room seems aged.

Has anyone stayed here recently? I have a stay here coming up and was wondering if anyone had any recent experiences.

Hi Bill,

I was there in October. I prefer the Marriott Marquis but the two nights I wanted it was crazy money, they must have had a convention or something on. After a couple of nights I still prefer MM. SGS is fine, but a bit dated. B'fast is good. Service is fine.

If you like that area and staying with Bonvoy - the Westin across the road is better I think. B'fast is better and same side of Suk as the mall.

Interesting observation, as I have always heard the Westin was much worse.

Horses for courses probably. Common areas in Westin not as good if you are in hotel all day or meeting people there. Bfast is better. I love to eat at El Gaucho right beside. Mall access is good.

If staying at the hotel all day, common areas including pool and gym at SGS is better.

The Sheraton is a good spot. It is dated, but not run down in the least. Love their gym/sauna set up. My fav in BKK.

I stayed 5 nights at the Sofitel down the street in March. Club level, suite, a very nice room. No guest issues and the food options are solid.

The SGS was my first experience in BKK, I liked the discrete downstairs entry. Mind you, that was 26 years ago, I rapidly moved to cheaper digs to spend the difference on my company....
