Oh what to do? Extra time

 My travel plans have changed as my dive buddy doesn't arrive in hkt now until 11 Jan so I got an extra 2 weeks before having to get to Khao Lak on the 11 Jan via utp on Bangkok airways. I need to find a few other mongering locations between Pattaya and Koh Chang for about 10 days. I would have spent 3 nights bbk (arrive 10 dec) 5 nights Pattaya, 5 nights Koh Chang with 10 days no plans. I want to mix it up sort of go low key country for awhile. don't  want to be in Phuket to touristy or Khao Lak to many families over Xmas NY.  Don't fly out of bkk until 26 Jan and will finish off trip in Pattaya for at least 4/5 nights.

This may sound absurd to some but thinking spending  few nights over NY in Ban Chang. Been on a few crawls over the years, once having to stay the night due to missing the bus back to Pattaya. I kind of like the idea.I'm not fussy don't need 4star or 10/10 chicks. I travel very light so ok to move frequently.

Any suggestions of locations, accommodation, bars, etc would be appreciated.

Ban Chang is your option. It is pretty much a desert between there and Koh Chang for farangs. You could mix it up and go to Poi Pet in the dodgy casinos for a few nights gambling and whoring up on the Cambodia border. You could cancel your flight and take the train down and spend time in in Hua hin? 2 weeks extra in Thailand is a long time and you are not limited to shitty old Ban Chang. Personally, I would spend time in Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai. Fair bit of action to be had there.
