Transit Visa query at Swampy

Hello heathens ,

A co worker on Ukraine passport has screwed up on his flight bookings to Siem Reap. He arrives to Swampy from Dubai on a different ticket and then the onwards ticket to Siem reap is on Bangkok Airways. He has contacted Bangkok airways who've asked him to clear immigration and then proceed to check in. There seems to be no other alternative to this arrangement as Bangkok airways refuses to check his bags through to Siem Reap if its under a different booking.

Good news is he has about 6 hrs transit time between the flights. However he is now confused on what to fill on his Visa on Arrival application in the address in thailand field

Any leads on what to fill will be helpful as Bangkok airways and Swampy airport helplines have drawn a blank. He doesnt have enough time to apply for a transit visa.

Also he is to return to LoS in 3 days to join us at Patts. So he is worried if he may be denied his Visa on Arrival if he comes back within 3 days. any brethren that is familiar with this Visa on Arrival scheme , can you please help out.

Thanks.

He writes In Transit to Siem Reap for the address. He might well need the 6 hours with the hordes I witness at VOA when I arrive, Indians and Chinese up the wazoo.

He could write any address of any hotel in Bangkok for that matter if he's eligible for VOA I doubt they care.

There is no transit visa

when he checked in for his emirates flight he should of asked them to check his bags to final destination, emirates and bangkok airways codeshare with eachover

Read what he wrote. Two tickets. Almost no airlines even in the same alliance will check bags through on the 2nd ticket (you are lucky to get them to do it with two separate tickets on themselves). Two tickets is not one ticket and/or a codeshare.

He's already checked with Bangkok Air and he has to enter Thailand, get his bags and check in with them. He's eligible for VOA not a VE so all he needs to know is the "local address". Rather than lie, which would be obvious if they asked for his onward ticket, he puts down the truth, he's in transit.

Note how it worked and he was not deported.

If you get in a similiar situation, you can google with the key words interline and the airline. If you do this with Bangkok Airways you get this: http://www.bangkokair.com/separate-ticket

If you are more pro, you can use tools like KVS-Tool witch has a part where you an see interline agreements from all airlines. But like ricktoronto wrote, on different tickets its mostly not done.
