Just wondering which Thai GSM mobile provider has the best coverage in and around Pattaya.

I used 1-2 call network, didn't have any problems at all when there for over 5 weeks. Reasonable rates compared to a network my friend was on (sorry can't remember which 1) Simcards are 50 thb each so if you don't like the 1st one, try another.

I have used both AIS and DTAC; both work fine in town. AIS seems to work slightly better upcountry. If you don't plan on leaving Pattaya or Bangkok, it doesn't matter which you get. Just get the one with the best promotion at the time.

I have used DTAC/Happy for a couple of years now and never had a problem, when ringing internationall just use the prefix 009 before teh country code and for me back to UK it is about 7Bt a minute. Cheaper than Skype if you are calling a UK mobile

I've used 1-2 call and True move,

 

Never had a problem with 1-2 call but true move was shit service, couldn't even get reception if i was in my room or in a restaurant..

I used DTAC until I went up to NongKhai on Christmas Day - no reception at all on DTAC so changed over to 123 which worked fine but i suspect their charges are higher as i seem to be always topping up more frequently than i ever did on DTAC. As long as the phone works i quess is most important.

i bin using 12call since first time i came on holliday here.

now i am here 8 month,not had any real problems.

just like all other provider have from time to time.

1-2 Call = AIS Network

DTAC = Happy Network

 

 

i tested this 2 operators and in Pattaya it's really the same performance, the coverage is really the same between this 2 providers ! (Bangkok too)

 

BTW, i agree if you go in Issan or in the center of Thailand DTAC is not so good than 1-2 Call because 1-2 Call have at this day a best coverage all over the country.

 

BUT 1-2 Call have more costumers and sometimes i was little problems to give a call because the network was busy but it was only 3 or 4 times.

 

in Pattaya, there are no difference between the operators, but i heard some bad reviews about True Network, that's why i didn't buy a True sim card.

 

a tip : have a look sometimes in the DTAC/1-2 Call website, they offer some good promotions and some tips you can use with you number, like some cheaper rates with one favourite number etc...
