Melbourne to U-Tapao

I see Air Asia are flying to U-Tapao via KL from Melbourne and Sydney.

Has anyone done it and what are the facilities like at U-Tapao? Long lines at immigration like Don Meuang? How much for Taxi to Patts?

Not sure I will try it as Air Asia are moving from Tulla out to Avalon later this year (Oct/Nov?).

Fuck going all the way to Avalon.  Its an hour from the CBD.

Did that flight from the Gold Coast. U-T brand new terminal should fully operational now so Expect it has improved. A real dump before. You can share a van into town for 250 or catch a taxi for around 1000B.

Looks like only 1 daily Air Asia flight from KL, better off flying into BKK and getting the sex express down to Patts, especially if it involves a long connection in KL waiting for that one daily flight!

AA set to go to Avalon on Dec 5 I believe, I live in Tulla so a deal breaker for me.

Yeah the trek to Avalon and having to transfer in KLIA2 just isn't worth it.
