Moonlight

Moonlight has been on my to try list for quite some time. Last night the GF and I gave it a try.

It's a small place located in VT7 down at the end of the hall near the swimming pool.

The overall ambiance is quite nice, including some discreet background light jazz.

We started with some oysters and they were very fresh.

 

For entrees we had Lamb Rossini and a Ribeye Steak. Both were good, but I would have to say not great.

I wanted to like this place, but I have a problem with it. It is at the same price point (and actually a little higher in some ways) as Au bon Coin, Cafe des Amis, and The Royal Cliff Grill Room. The bill at Moonlight came to 5500 baht whereas my recent trips to the others were at 2500, 4500, and 4500 respectively. Of the four I liked Moonlight the least and paid the most for it. Yes bills are a subjective argument depending on what is ordered, but I really think the orders were quite similar in nature.

So, Moonlight is coming off of my list for now, due to liking other venues better. I really have nothing bad to say about Moonlight. The staff and service were very good. I just have other places at this price point that I like better.
