I always use the gold shop opposite the market car park on Soi Neurn Plub Wan, but I think that they're all a bit of a muchness. Gold price is posted daily in all the gold shop windows. Invariably the same.

If you are buying something for your teerak stick to gold. You can buy a sterling silver bracelet or a diamond ring but your likely to get them thrown in your face, it's Thai gold or nothing! That's why there are very few jewellery shops but hundreds of gold shops.

If you insist on jewellery, Big C and Tesco Lotus have them at the entrance.

Yep... go to a good restaurant  - “too expensive teelak”.

Go to a gold shop “Can I get 2 baht chain?”  ( after strong suggestions 1 baht was all the budget allowed)...

Yep. I always get TGF a piece of gold for her birthday. Always asks for 2 baht, always gets 1 baht!
