I have a large collection of mini discs but now have no player.

I would love to be able to access the material on them and possibly transfer it to MP3 but without a player i'm stuffed.

Does anyone know if they keep their information indefinatley or do they deteriorate with time, they have not been played for a few years.

Smee I have seen many in Pantip in Bangkok. Try Tukcom before you take the trip to BKK.

I am pretty sure you can get some piece of kit to transfer direct to your com even if you cant find a player.

I would imagine the discs have a very long shelf life even if not infinite.

Have you tried them in your PC cd drive, it's worth a try, if they can be read then you

can transfer the data to something else.

I have tried places like Tuk Com, but no joy, in fact everywhere i went i was met with total bewilderment as to what i was on about, even showing them one resulted in "What the F**k is that !" looks. There again T. I. T. :D and the "No Hab" syndrome is rife ! :Ignore1:

Someone did lend me a Walkman style player, but it was unable to read the data so that's why i'm a bit worried about 'shelf life'.

My thoughts too.

Thanks for your input

The one I had with a usb connection needed sony jukebox software and would not download faster than real time....It would upload (or record via usb) at 6x I believe for mp3 files that the software has to convert to sony minidisc format...some models have a optical digital out but again only real time playback.....you could use a dvd recording deck to dub to (again real time) but then your stuff would at least be in a more common format.....
