I am screwed!

I've read this on Dyson Estate Forum and is it common in Pats!!!

My rental deposit is stolen! Not just one time, several times! The excuses that the owner throwing me is that he needs to fix the air con, plumbing problem and even gardening issue...! OK it's not much to me but I really cannot be so kind anymore... knowing these money could be going into his own pocket I do feel upset!

I want to take some action but I don't know where to start. Please, if you know, give me some advise.

This kind of situation reminds me of the 2 months deposit. You HAVE to make sure it will be refunded! I rented a condo last year and I paid 2 months deposit and when I planned to move out, the owner gave me a lot of reasons (repair wear & tear items, repair this and that) so that he wouldn't have to return the deposit. I was kind of rush that time and didn't have time to argue or take any legal action what a bad experience!

If the landlord was a foreigner I guess the situation would be better...

I don't know how you stand in LOS, I'd guess you got no chance of getting any dough back!!

A business owner should be a little more polite, especially one who rents out rooms. Why not highlight this misfortune as an opportunity for the poster to pay your establishment a visit and be treated properly?
