Early on Saturday Morning, a major Police offensive to crackdown on known criminal elements here in Pattaya began. A group of over 200 Officers from Pattaya Police, Pattaya’s Tourist Police and Pattaya’s Immigration Police met in the Pattaya Police Station Car Park where they were addressed by Police Major General Somdaert, Deputy Commander of Region 2 Police. He stressed the importance of clearing Pattaya of those who engage in criminal activities and confirmed to his officers that a list of 40 separate locations will be targeted in this crackdown over the next few days. The first morning of the operation was completed and the results were paraded in front of the local media. 185 Yabba Tablets, 2 Ecstasy Tablets, 8 guns, and many stolen mobile phones were seized. Illegal lottery operators along with suspected drug dealers were arrested. The General confirmed this was a good start to the operation which it is hoped will continue to clean-up Pattaya over the next few days.

Just out of curiosity, are all those people that walk around selling lottery tickets doing so illegally? Does Thailand have a legal lottery?
