Jomtien - Enjoy Andre's (very good middle of the road fare)

I got to chatting with a guy who does pool laps in the morning about the same time that I do. Actually, he does laps and I paddle around a bit, but I am getting stronger at what I am doing. I guess that is what counts. The pool at VT2 is really good IMO and one of the things I look forward to for a potential move to Jomtien is having year round pool access. When here I do one hour in the morning and another hour in late afternoon.

Anyway, the guy recommended Andre's to me saying it is not Cafe des Amis, but it costs a hell of a lot less. I went tonight and fully agree. I had duck with orange sauce and 1/2 carafe of very drinkable wine for under 600 baht. This place is not top of the line, but it is very good for the value. I was not crazy about the duck (not rendered enough), but Andre's has a deep menu with what is reported to be good Thai food as well.

Oops, forgot to say it is on Thappraya Soi 6 alley. If you get to 6 and Thappraya you can not miss it.

Some pics.

Yeah, I've been there a few times for Belgian food. It's pretty good.  I see here they have daily and weekly specials now. Thanks for bringing this place up. I forgot about it.

I used to visit Enjoy André once a week until about half a year ago, when it began sliding.

André himself is seldom there (tour guiding in Chiang Mai) and leaves the business to his wife, Mai.

If you can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.

Would be great if someone would post menu

Can't find one on website or Facebook page.

BTW, is it an outdoor place with a roof rather than an enclosed airconditioned one?

Could be a bit uncomfortable at times.

It is al fresca, but with plenty of fans. The menu is quite deep. Something for everyone, including what some have said is decent Thai food. I like the place, but am not gung ho on it. The meal in the pic was under 600 baht, including the 1/2 carafe of wine. The wine was decent.

Thanks.

Always good to know of different places.
