Badly decomposed body found in undergrowth in Jomtien.

On Tuesday Evening, Police Lieutenant Colonel Chaiyaporn from Banglamung Police Station was called to the Sukumvit Road in Jomtien following the discovery of a badly decomposed body in undergrowth. The Officer arrived and inspected the body which is thought to be that of a foreigner due to the large size of the corpse. It is thought the man had been dead for many days due to the state of decomposition. No identification could be found for the man, however a bottle of insect killer was found nearby and Police suspect the man may have committed suicide at the location. The body was discovered by a bulldozer driver who had stopped to urinate in the bushes. A post mortem examination is now underway as Police await confirmation of how the man died and who he is.

Call me cynical but with the amount of trash by the side of that stretch of road in Jomtien an insecticide bottle could have been there for months before the body arrived. Would be curious to know how much other misc trash was closeby that could not be linked to this "unattended death". Perhaps the police should conduct a proper autopsy first to see if their are any trances of the chemicals in the body first before making a convenient claim of suicide. Interesting that the body lacked identification...a missing wallet may indicate another more devious motive. CSI Jomtien would be classified as a comedy in most parts of the world!

There's a lot of so called suicides/accidental deaths in Pattaya. The authorities couldn't care less about the people who die or the victims, all they care about is the country's image as a top tourist destination and their tourist numbers.

Do you think there's a link between the guy dying over 200bt with a girl in the eastiny hotel and this one.. Maybe someone else who didn't want to pay the full amount.

I think 90% he was murdered by the gang.. For the money... Pattaya is getting dangerous everyday... Never ever walk alone in the dark area.... Walk with someone or walk to the busy street.. RIP to the person who died....

I agree totally, there have been cases where the death of a ferang has occured and the "Authorities" manage to find the culprit, ( most of them could not find a prostitute in a beer bar ! ) but the important thing is, they were seen to conclude the dastardly deed. "Crime solved ! "

whether the person actually did it or not, is irrelevant, justice was seen to be done.

Thailand must appear to be a place where if anything goes wrong, the good Thai police ( they never take bribes you know ! ) are 'on the ball' and must surely be the best in the world.

After some visits to Brazil and Costa Rica, I can confirm that Pattaya is a walk in the park in comparison. The danger of Pattaya isn't nearly as bad as people make it out to be.... not even close. Tijuana is also no joke these days.....

I agree with you. Rio is tough at night, but not as bad as Honduras, the cops will mug you there.

  • 2 weeks later...

Tragically his family will probably never know the "real" reason why this guy was found dead...Murdered while getting robbed? Lost his life whilst having an argument with thai men? Killed by a yabayaba-crazy freelancer? Drugs? Insect-Killer Suicide....it just seems so.....weird.Sad way to end imo.
