Fire In Walking Street - March 15 , 8am

08:05 Something is burning strong right now on WS
From my condo I can see very black smoke and flames over some building.
I saw already 3 big firemen trucks on South Road going on it.
I can't say what is burning; seems to be in the Mandarin-Lighthouse area (?)
...

08:15 Fire extinguished (smoke stopped). I saw an ambulance going there.

 

Edit: Rock Street music bar, between Skyfall and Taboo agogo. Fire due to a transformer explosion (?)

It was rock street bar on fire

blue sky/rock st for those trying to place it was the site of casnovy agogo before a total rebuild.....................which will be needed again

having checked my photo archives casnovy gogo had it's final party on june 15th 2016.

knockdown/re build started almost immediately but looking at my pics the possible fire source........the transformer..............was already there outside and not a new unit

blue sky/rock st opened at the start of september 2016.

following the event in october, the front was glassed in to make live music more acceptable

rock st by Blue Sky shut due to severe damage

small thai shop between it and Skyfall agogo shut

Skyfall agogo also shut wed night

 

the concrete posts in above pics of mine replaced with new ones and new transformer installed

... but inside your would barely notice that they had a fire !

Very far from the "Completely destroyed by fire" that I have read on some news sites !

Having suffered a house fire, I can pretty much guarantee all that stuff wll be an insurance write off, at the very least it will stink of smoke Was in there just after xmas. Not my cup of tea and was half empty.
