I have side trips for 2 nights to each off the above. I know its not long but tbh i probably wont ever be back there. 10 years holidaying in Thailand and never really been out off Pattaya!

Looking for something central, cheap but not a saw dust joint and girl friendly.

Hi Munter,

I stayed in the Pannarai in Udon, nice place girl friendly. Video here. I stayed in @home in udon, dirty, not nice, video not ready yet :-( The Choreon hotel (video in production) is good too, good value also :-)

Room does indeed look small. And is that 2 single beds pushed together?

I stayed at the Pannarai last year. It's a really nice hotel. Good free breakfast, nice swimming pool. Right next to the Day and Night beer bar complex. In fact the rooms have double double glass to keep out the noise. Never was a problem for us though. (stayed with an LLT)

I stayed in both The Pannarai and @Home last week when I was in Isaan. Pannarai is nice but I thought @Home was a better value at half the price(650 thb). The room was spotless, good wifi, and the balcony with table/chairs is a nice bonus.

Also my room at Pannarai faced Day & Night bar complex so I could hear the music in the evenings...not a big deal though because they shut down around midnight.

Regarding Phuket I can only give a good recommendation for Kata but not Patong...sorry

I stayed at Banthai Village in Chiang Mai about 3 years ago and liked it very much...it was quiet but a short walk to the bars/massage and East gate to the old city. Raming Lodge seems to be quite popular with the BMs here also.
