Hotel De La Mer Walking Street

I'm returning in December and i've heard rumours that it has been demolished.

 

Can anyone shead any light on this?

 

If so can anyone recomend anywhere else to stay on Walking Street that isn't to shabby.

 

Stayed at the Diamond Beach once before and didn't really like it. Tried Galaxy and it's all booked up :(

Always been a bit curious about hotels right on or near Walking Street.

 

Arent they awfully noisy when you finally want some sleep ???
