In my continued attempt to spend more money than I have, I met a buddy at Mata Hari's for dinner tonight. IMO this is one of the best restaurants in Jomtien.

I had the Grouper in Lemon Sauce. Absolutely delicious.

 

 

Short story - highly recommended.

 

 

 

 

 

Its nice to have a cocktail in the bar before dinner here.

Highly recommend. About 3k for 2 people from memory.

Mata Haris is one of my favorites and Louie is a great guy

 

my friends all get the "lobster plate" as their appetizer

 

 

I get the coconut chicken with panang sauce often

 

 

Not been for years but good memories, must try again soon.

I thought it had shut its doors for awhile. When did it reopen?

Stopped in with a buddy the other night. Food was good and the service was better. Downside was that we were the only people in the place. It has the feel of a place that is going under. :(

My buddy had a steak.

 

I had the crab encrusted fish.

Potato croquettes. Tasty, but a little too filling.

yes it is on its last leg, still a terrific place but no one going anymore, used to be you couldnt get in.  shame and Louie is getting really old and not promoting it

wow, must have been in the last few days.  So sad, great place and great food, but louie has been in poor health for the last couple of years and let it fun down.  will miss that place and Louie

I guess you’re American, holding the fork in your right hand.

Really sad it has closed, for me, it was the best quality restaurant in town.

I used to go the there often when friends came to town or for special occasions.

Great service and great food.

Accurate guess. I am from the fine city of Chicago with Texas, East Coast (NJ and DC), and West Coast (SEA and SAN) influences.

Drove by last night and the lights are definitely out. :(

The neighbours at Manhattans Steakhouse closed already some years ago.
