I am going to be in Pattaya from the 23rd to the 1st. Is it a must that I pre-arrange my hotel accommodations due to high season crowds? I've never been during high season.

No need to worry... Lots of empty hotels due to global recessions, people around the world is cancelling the annual xmas holidays abroad which is good news for people who do go.. I have heard hotels and Guesthouses in Pattaya is cutting the prices down due to lack of Farangs... Again, you not to worry.... Book the hotel when you arrive... Directrooms.com is very good for hotel booking, they also offered hot deals on selected hotels... Like 10 night and get 2 free....

I wouldn't be so sure about that statement that there is lots of rooms available, there have been a few post over the last few days of people struggling to find place to stay over XMAS and NY, so if I was you I would try and book a room before you leave if you can find one, remember that its high season.

I would agree with Mavrick on this one.

For what it’s worth simply book now so when you hit the airport you know exactly which hotel is waiting for you so you can start bar hopping asap.

The hotel may ask for a deposit which is a fairly standard procedure for high season.

Cheers

I've contacted every hotel on Soi LK Metro that is affiliated with this board and they are all full. I'm sure there are plenty of rooms around but you should at least book something now to save the hassle of shopping around..

I would book ahead of time. There is no time busier in Pattaya than the week between Christmas and New Year's.

Absolutely!! The last thing you want to be doing is spending a couple of hours looking for a place to stay when you first arrive.

Something to watch out for too is that some hotels have a compulsory ball fee on New Years. IMO it is a rip off.

Also try these places even if you booked for 1-2 nights then look around when you get there.

It's not that every hotel in Patts is booked already, just all the more popular places. Pre-book or roll the dice. You might get lucky, but if you take your chances, you might end up in a fleabag roach hole.
