Ok i just booked china air 1/6-2/2 2009... I could have flown asiana for less money but the trip durations were much longer.....I am not familiar with either airline and couldnt find too many reviews!!!

China Airlines is OK.

 

It's flying on the Boeing 747 that is going to make it a miserable trip.

 

I have flown China Airlines from Seattle on Airbus 340.

 

You will fly out of Bangkok on an Airbus 330 or 340. Same plane. 330 has 2 engines. 340 has 4 engines.

 

The Airbus 340 is better than the Boeing 747. I've heard the Boeing 777 is better than the Airbus 340.

 

They switch gates a lot in Taiwan. Find the right gate before you explore the terminal.

i flew that before. good flight. tapei airport is simple and quick- if youre waiting a long time for your flight to BKK, check out the free internet cafe- pretty nice and convenient.

 

dunno about the planes- typically, i fly eva air (lands in tapei too) and i choose the biggest plane they have (less turbulence), but if you pop a xanex, you sleep for 10 hours. from LA to tapei, its 14 hours. then 3 hours from tapei to BKK. i really dont want to be awak for a 14 hour romp.
