Fake Police Officer arrested at the Bali Hai Port.

 

There are many here in Thailand who aspire to work as a Police Officer, others that are content to volunteer to assist full time officers and a minority who pretend to be real Police Officers when they are in fact just regular members of the public. Just before Daybreak on Sunday, Police were on routine patrol at the Bali Hai Port in South Pattaya when they encountered a man, later named as Khun Somsak aged 25, who appeared to be drunk. The officers suggested it would be better for him to go home. Khun Somsak replied by claiming he was a Pattaya Police Officer and it would be better for the officers to leave him alone or there would be trouble. Police Corporal Soonam, the senior officer at the scene, challenged the man to produce a Police ID Card which was not forthcoming. Following a string of abusive words directed at the real officer it was decided to place Khun Somsak under arrest on a charge of impersonating a Police Officer.
