Well Done to the athletes, coaches and fans!!  :Clap1:

"Great Britain have secured second place in the Olympic medal table at the Rio Games after it was confirmed that China could no longer win enough gold medals to overtake them, with Team GB already surpassing their record haul at any Games after surging past the 65 medal count achieved at London 2012.

It means that Britain have become the first ever nation to better their medal haul at an Games that immediately follows a home Olympics, and matters could still get even better on the final day of competition with boxer Joe Joyce in the men’s super heavyweight boxing final....."

Impressive performance form the UK.

The other English speakers did damn well also. With Oz and Canada in the Top 10 overall medal count and NZ not far behind.

When you look at medals per capita it's even more impressive.

Also not bad either when you know that each medal cost a faction over £1 per person in the UK, as almost all the funding for 'team GB' comes from the UK national lottery and very little is funded by the tax payer.

However not trying to take anything away from the fantastic performance but the total cost works out at just over £4 million, per medal, so with that kind of funding if they had not performed the UK media would have torn them to pieces., so imagine the pressure they were under.
