I am looking for brewer's yeast to make a DIY CO2 generator for my fish tank.

Anyone know where I could find some?

Thanks :-)

Could always go to Friendship and if they still have Coopers Ales you could buy one, drink the beer and use the residue yeast to start your own culture.

Lol

Alcohol kills yeast. I am sure whatever is in that bottle is dead.

Sorry but you are wrong. I have a very good friend, very much into brewing for over 40 years. He has cultivated many yeast strains from many different European beers. Try it and you will see I am right.

Coopers is one of the Australian beers that is still "alive" when you crack the bottle.

I also brewed for over 30 years.

It only does once the concentration gets high enough. With normal quantities of sugar the alcohol level does not get high enough to kill the yeast. If it did you wouldn't get the secondary fermentation.
