Can any USA members help me please.

I'm a truck driver, live in Canada and use a cheap call card, VOX ASIA to call Thailand from Canada but will be in the USA about 22 days a month and I want to buy a similar sort of card to use from USA to Thailand from a payphone. I've tried the internet but all of them want an address from the USA which I haven't got.

Also any advice on pay-as-you-go phones for calls in the US and Canada would be appreciated.

Thanks, Neil.

I just did a little research on calling cards for US and Canada and signed up for a service called one suite http://www.onesuite.com Thailand is 11 cents a minute, but the service is reliable according to several review sites.

I've used Union Telecard Aliance "Mega Clean" card for years...

2.5 cents per minute, good connections, can setup phone to recognize your phone (so you don't have to type in code) and speed dial for multiple numbers.

Also - I set my account up to auto recharge $10 at a time (I can keep track and don't have hassle of signing in to recharge).

I've even used it from inside Thailand to hide the fact that I'm still in Thailand (your teelak can't see your calling from thai number :P ).

Hope it works as well for you.

Thanks for replies, I don't get a chance to get to small shops because I'm in a semi, but I'll try the internet suggestions, thanks again. Neil.

You can also try any CVS pharmacy specifically. They have calling cards from a company called simplink, and sell cards specifically for cell phones which have fairly cheap rates. Thailand is about 2 cents per minute, and the cards for this company not only are reloadable via internet, but they give you an additional $5 just for registering the card to your number. They also have 1 number calling you can setup online, so you don't have to bother with PIN numbers or dialing the numbers in Thailand, just hit your speed dial # and your good to go.
