Karaoke songs to sing with bargirls?

Unmedicated

Recommended Posts

I'm learning some songs to sing at karaoke when I go back to Thailand. I like all kinds of music but if I could sing something to impress or amuse the young ladies, bargirls or otherwise, that would add another level of enjoyment for me. I'm in my late 20's and while I enjoy all sorts of music I don't want to cockblock myself by picking the wrong song to sing.

Anyone got some suggestions? Central thai please, no Isaan! (unless it's incredibly good)

Here are some songs I'm already learning in case anyone else wants to do the same:

Bdadtitin by Labanoon (http://deungdutjai.com/2016/06/23/bpadtitinlabanoon/)

This website is full of trite songs about love and heartbreak. This is one of the few songs I found with a good hook which makes it easy to memorize. I always learn the refrain first since it's repeated most often and it tends to be more strongly reinforced by the music itself.

Sai Va Si Bor Thim Kun (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H_UbfgLbuyw)

Unfortunately in Isaan language and I haven't been able to learn it all. Everybody seems to know it though. I learned the refrain by having every girl I barfined teach me a line or two! I don't have any translated lyrics for this one beyond what I've been able to translate on my own.

Poom Pae Krung Thep (http://deungdutjai.com/2013/09/25/poompaekrungtheppang/)

Really catchy song and I think will be good for duets. It's the one I'm currently learning.

I really want to learn some pop songs and some songs with more creative lyrics. Last time I went to karaoke I did Barbie Girl by Aqua and Gangsta's Paradise by Coolio. When I go back I'll be singing more in thai so I hope to get some good suggestions to help me get there!

That's definitely a way to impress any Thai lady (and her friends, family, workmates, ...)

Here's my favourite (because it's not too fast):

You can also find many karaoke versions of that song. It's called คิดถึงนะ and the singer is แพรว คณิตกุล

I Will Survive - Gloria Gaynor       (Gets bored looking coyotes at Skyfall, into a more cheery mood.)

A Woman's Worth - Alicia Keys    (Best sung during negotiating that ST/LT)

Girl on Fire - Alicia Keys               (dedicate it to the one that gave you VD)

Keep Ya Head Up - Tupac            (Best sung after you've paid them, and they're walking to the elevator)

I've been listening to this one. Some song you've picked. I'd say don't do this one unless you can master the genre. It's hard. If you want to impress them you should sing something quite fluently. If you do a half-assed version of this song they'll just feel sorry for you (except for those who are musically challenged and might buy your version)

It's not really the same effect you get with a wallet. Show them your wallet and they want your money. Sing a song and they want to listen to you. Once the money is spent then can forget about you. But when you finish singing your song... and if you want to compare: how many punters have a fat wallet? how many punters can sing Thai songs? Then decide which one is more impressive.

He asked for Thai songs, right? Or you probably meant something like this:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mpYJU4zGGjg

It's not that hard! I can basically mimic the whole song already, but I won't sing it until I know what the whole thing means.

And I don't have much money but I guess I'm in it for the long haul. Many reasons to go back and I hope I can find some girls I won't have to pay for this time. In any case I try to be the best I can whether I pay for it or not.

If you know some more good songs feel free to share!

Well good luck then! And remember to share your performance on youtube!

OP - Great subject for a thread....forget the criticism of the 'fat wallet' brigade.

Funnily enough, I said to my missus earlier today that I wanted to learn the Thai pop song 'Patoong' (will get the you-tube link). We are going to a karaoke night in a few weeks, organised by our hi-so (police top brass) neighbour in Udon Thani in a few weeks time. I always end up singing Oasis Wonderwall - but I fancy trying something in Thai.

Money, Money, Money - Abba.
