UAE stopovers and transit passengers be aware

Due to some of the jail sentences being handed out be aware of what is legal or illegal while travelling through the UAE e.g. Dubai,Abu Dhabi

Do they get enforced for transit passengers as well??? Well... on paper of course yes, but I can't believe that they jail you for some common cold medicine...

I cracked my ribs before my last trip and to think that my painkillers could have led to a 4 year jail term is scary.

 

The story that a guy was jailed for 0.003g of cannabis on the sole of his shoe should frighten anyone who has ever visited a nightclub anywhere in the western world.

I booked my next trip with EK... but after reading this I don't feel cool about it... it amazes me how they try to market themselve as the new center of the world and have this medievel laws... we should boycot those coonts

I normally carry a pack of XANAX with me to help me sleep. Just seen these are on the list which aint good news. Cos I count on one of these to feel fresh when I reach BKK.

 

Maybe its time to look at different airlines. WHich is crap, cos I really like Etihad and Emirates.

I have never transited there. But hell I won't travel with anything anyway. It is not worth the risk at all.
