when your ready to return to wild pattaya its only 3 hours away so great get away

It was been developed just hope they haven't spoiled it.

Koh Phi Phi does look very appealing as does Koh Tao.

Koh Lipe sounds good also.

Heard the weather on Koh Chang is bad around this time of year? I'll be in Thailand within the next 4 weeks and Koh Chang will probably be knee deep in monsoon season by then so I'll probably give Koh Chang a miss. Unless someone can advise me differently?

I'll be in Thailand for 28 days in total 12 of these days in Pattaya then the rest island hopping. I just don't know where to start or what islands to visit yet.

KOH CHANG is probably the nicest one that's easy to get to. I enjoy going..been there 3 times...but took a girl with me each time. You can get fairly cheap accommodations that are nice...the waterfalls are cool and beaches are clean.

I'm going to Koh Kood (Ko Kut?) for a couple of nights end of the month. Don't have a clue about how it's going to be, but, I'm going to snag a girl and take her along so it won't all be bad I guess...

Koh Chang has many Tescos now.

Anyway, my favorite island was Ko Lanta for a peaceful getaway.  But Koh Phi Phi is fun as hell for the beach parties.   :)

have they bugger what a waste of a beautiful place ... just some times wish the big corps would leave some places alone and let the local people just run the little businesses fucking shame

Tesco's in Koh Chang are very small much like 7/11 and not so many of them , if you go round the island there are many small beach resorts , for me it's a great island so easy to get to from Pattaya or Bangkok

Koh chang is easy to get around...we usually just rent a motorbike and go where we want...as for places to stay...it's all about budget...some really nice places for 2500 to 3000 a night..there are cheaper ones and more expensive ones. Last 3 times I stay Kai bee beach...emerald cove and the chill...chill was really nice...but high dollar.

Samui is great at this time of year , I prefer Lamai but if you are in your 20's Chaweng has a great nightlife and loads of young tourists , personally would give Koh Tao a wide berth after the murders and other stuff that has happened there

If it floats, flies or fucks It's probably cheaper to rent ...

I like Koh Samet more than Koh Larn for a day trip, but it's more time/money to get there from Pattaya. For an extended stay, I think about Koh Tao every day since I left.

I never got to Koh Gai, but it looks like a chicken, hence the name :)

I've been looking into Koh Lipe -- the travel time from (I guess Krabi airport?) is like 6-8 hours... is there a "fast" route if you're flying in from Bangkok?

I'm going to be spending a night in Soneva Kiri on Koh Kood next week. I'll write a report afterwards...

  • 3 weeks later...

Spent two nights in Koh Kood. I'll write a detailed trip report later, but, as a quick heads up, I would suggest that whoever is thinking of going to Koh Chang should head over here instead! The water's crystal clear, the beaches are great. There are no girls available so it's take your own. A couple of pictures and I'll post more later...
