What do you Know about it?

Running the club that I do, it was necessary to quickly educate myself on all of the Chemical enhancer that were available to either enhance or over come a guys sexual capacity, or lack thereof.

The main ones are Viagra, Levitra and Cialis, with Cialis and Viagra being the two most common in either tablet form or gels. They all act in differing ways to achieve the same aim, however the one thing they have in common is that they are all relatively short term fixes. This is ok for a young guy that 'may' be stuffed full of testosterone and who just wants to experience that extra buzz. However with many guys it is a means of not facing up to what may be the real problem, Low testosterone especially the free variety.

What most do not realise is that in this day and age there is absolutely no reason for you to suffer from low Test, or to grow old gracefully. HRT for men is here, readily available and will change your life! The alteration/changes in the hormonal levels of women have been successfully addressed for years, mainly due to their greater openness and willingness to discuss/bring into the light such personal matters.

I have had to listen to so many guys in the club now, despairing in their flagging performance that i thought it was time we addressed this matter openly on addicts for BM here who could perhaps benefit from male HRT.

So lets start by seeing who knows what and what myths there are about this sometimes taboo subject. What do you know about male HRT? Do you need it? How can you tell if you need it? What are the risks if any? What are the delivery systems? Please, help me out and share your knowledge and experiences, lets bring this clearly out of the closet.

From what I've seen and read, it's just not worth it at this stage. They haven't been able to do the same amount of research on the men as they have on the women, possibly because of what you mentioned earlier in regards to men not really wanting to talk about it.

The list of very likely side effects would be enough to put me off. The big one, especially for people in LOS ( :GoldenSmile1: ), is the problems relating to the liver. Drinking and HRT clearly don't mix!

IMO, short term fixes are good for now....or at least until they can get more research in!

One of the better known therapies seems to be Andriol. Much info on their website:

Laawman,

Whilst Andriol would appear to be a popular therapy the side effects because of it being taken orally seem high. I am hoping that some of the BMs will either be on HRT or have a more detailed knowledge of it, than that available on sales sites

Andriol is absorbed by the lymph system, ie doesnt go through or affect the liver. Problem is its a 40mg capsule with a very short halflife so multiple capsules are needed to be taken throughout the day, in 3 doses or more.

Something like sustanon 250 or testoviron depot injected intramuscularly once a month would be more effective of obtaining an elevated testosterone level throughout the month.

Oral testosterone such as methyltest severley damages the liver.

Another good oral form is proviron which is not knon to exert a negative effect on the ;liver, also improves quality/quantity of sperm when u shoot your load:)

Every action has an equal and opposite reaction - "it was just the internet.." is not an excuse.

Several of my friends (60yrs+) are taking these with no perceived ill side-effects. They have all settled into a single capsule a day taken at breakfast, as producing the desired effect.

If you want to try the injectable route then the newer Nebido may be the answer as it only requires quarterly jabs.

Testim really works. 5% testosterone gell. You apply it your shoulders every morning. It takes about thirty days to kick in and WOW.

Thanks for those getting into this, as I think it is relatively new and that many more people could fall into the benefit range than are willing to admit. So far we have had a lot of supporting posts, does anyone know the downside, leaving to one side the prostrate cancer marker that negates its use.

Serious question guys although too late for me LOL.

What is the truth about the myths of Testosterone and hair loss. As I said, too late for me but some people may prefer the short term fixes of the Gels to hair loss.

The hair los is believed to associated with a particularly strong form of testosterone known as DHT, which is also believed to be involved in the process of Prostate enlargement. I have read that vitamin E and some plant derived extracts can help prevent excess DHT binding to the hair roots and the cells in the Prostate gland i.e. Saw palmetto berries.

There are drugs that effect the production of DHT in the liver and do halt hair loss, Finesteride I think it's called but I've heard that it can make you impotent over time. Personally I'd rather just shave my head.

It would appear that modern thinking is that TRT in men has more benefits than any adverse side effects found to date.

Is it knows to CAUSE prostate cancer or just canot be used by anyone already having it?

There are some questions as to if it aggravates existing Prostrate cancer, and therefore some doctors insist that you have a test, (PSA?), for cancer markers before allowing you to start TRT, there are no indicators that it is carcinogenic in itself. The limited research carried out so far shows many benefits and not just those connected to ED either. Bone density, fat deposits, muscle mass/tone.Blood pressure, mood swings, mental health, depression, ability to concentrate, cholesterol, are just some areas that have been seen to benefit from this treatment.

Like when do you need to go on HRT drugs???

Is it a certain age bracket or sexual performance (or lack of)????

I'm 44 this year never ever thought of it before this thread.....................lol.

Interested to know the facts, hope it is something i can avoid worrying about for some time.

My concern with Finasteride etc. is that it starts playing the bodybuilder game. We start with high dose testosterone, then add an anti-estrogen to deal with the bloat, but low estrogen hurts the libido and can mess with your lipid profile so then there's more drugs to deal with that- and so on. This is fine if you are young, understand the risk and only doing it for 12 weeks at a time. But for years on end my preference would be to err on the side of caution and just keep your TRT doses low enough that most of these problems don't occur.

Sure, I wasn't reccomending Finasteride, quite the opposite. You seem to know your stuff, perhaps you can answer me this? I do understand the principle of the body shutting down it's own production of testosterone when it is introduce4 into the body from external sources. How long would you have to be on it for for this process to begin?

What I am getting at is would it be possible to take something, with a minimum risk, just to give yourself an extra jolt of testosterone, for the purpose of boosting libido for a 3 to 4 week holiday? I know that it's dodgy ground, but honestly is there such a regime that could be followed once or twice a year without a rebound effect?

There are protocols to do this, but if it's just libido you are looking for you are better of with 100mg of Proviron (Provironum in LOS) a day as Roidfreak mentioned. It basically lets your body make better use of the testosterone it already has but won't effect natural testosterone production, cholesterol, or liver values.

Thanks for the great information. That's a very important distinction about the way Proviron operates to help your body make better use of its own testosterone rather than being a steroid itself.

viagra, cialis, etc etc, they're all short term fixes

if you seek long term fixes, then HRT it is

because HRT will make your sexual Desire stable for long time, like every 2 weeks or even more.

the latest drug of HRT will keep your libido up for one month!

HRT bring many benefits to all people (kids, old people, young people, etc)

the side effect is happening only when that person decide to do it by themself without supervision from doctor

few people survive from side effect simply because they have same knowledge with doctor, or have access to such information

most of steroids side effects are reversible, so it's not as horror as you've heard.

the main thing is to get a blood test done on all your hormones , my testosterone was low , the test range was between 9 and 30 and I was 6 so I have started a natural hormone replacement which is in cream form that you rub on each day which goes thru the skin and doesnt affect the liver, it is a gradual process so you dont affect your system much and you have to keep a eye on your prostate status by blood tests as well, too much testosterone can upset other things like prostate etc , low testosteron can affect your muscles etc wasting away, calcium levels in bones etc.

Everyone is different, blocked arteries can cause erectile dysfunction, and thats where the viagra comes in by opening up the pipes in that area.

Since I have been taking testosterone I feel alot better and brain not so foggy, Im building up for my next trip.

Well...Proviron is technically a "steroid" but so it cholesterol. "Steroid" is just the molecule, a hexagonal carbon ring. It's important not to buy into the media hysteria. It's like saying "painkillers"- well there is aspirin and there is heroin. 200mg of Test and you will be horny and energetic, 200mg of Mibolerone and you will try to eat some children:-)

Proviron has basically no effect on muscle size or strength so is not an "Anabolic Steroid" in the usual sense even if it is a sex hormone. It just does not suppress natural production. From a legal point of view this makes Proviron illegal to import or possess in the United States (although as far as I know it is not a problem in the UK).

The line that I feel is important to draw is that now is that we are outside the realm of medical HRT. There are a lot of very good long term studies about the use of moderate doses of testosterone in men for overall health. Proviron is no where near as well researched, and while it will help with libido it does not replace testosterone and cannot offer the same health benefits if your levels are low. So it's a good option for men with fairly normal testosterone levels, who just want to give their libido a kick- but it is not HRT.

Hi,

Thanks for the great info. Do I need prescription to get Proviron ??
